The Dukes of Hazzard is a television series that aired on CBS from 1979 to 1985. Created by Gy Waldron, the show centers around two cousins, Bo and Luke Duke, who live in the fictional Hazzard County in Georgia. The show became a cultural phenomenon, with its iconic car chases and stunts, comedic one-liners, and catchy theme song.

Season 2 of The Dukes of Hazzard opens with the Duke boys returning home to find their farm in foreclosure. Their uncle Jesse had borrowed money from the Hogg family to pay off a loan, but Boss Hogg reneged on the deal and now plans to take over the farm. Bo and Luke, with the help of their car, the General Lee, come up with a plan to save the farm and outsmart Boss Hogg.

Throughout the season, the Duke boys find themselves in various predicaments, such as getting caught up in illegal gambling, helping a runaway boy, and trying to stop a corrupt politician. They also face off against their arch-nemesis, Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane, who is always on their tail.

The show’s popularity can be attributed to its entertaining plotlines, charismatic characters, and its signature car stunts. The General Lee, a 1969 Dodge Charger, became a cultural icon and was even included in the Smithsonian Institution’s collection of American history.

While the show did receive some criticism for its portrayal of Southern stereotypes, it remains a beloved piece of television history. The Dukes of Hazzard continues to be rerun on various networks and has even inspired a feature film adaptation.
